Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an Aged Care Centre Manager for Bethesda Aged Care Centre in Rockhampton. You will lead the operational management, supported by clinical and care teams, ensuring high standards of care and regulatory compliance.

You will drive financial performance, occupancy, AN-ACC readiness, and staff development in a collaborative, mission-driven environment. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with AHPRA registration and current practice eligibility.
• Demonstrated financial management experience in a residential aged care setting.
• Proven leadership and staff development capabilities in a multi-disciplinary team.
• Solid understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and guidelines for aged care.
• Experience with AN-ACC, occupancy planning and budget controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operational management of Bethesda Aged Care Centre, supported by a Clinical Care Coordinator and care staff.
• Ensure compliance, financial stewardship, occupancy targets, and regulatory requirements are met.
• Collaborate with Area Manager and Support Services to deliver high-quality resident care.
• Lead and develop staff to achieve organisational goals and service standards.

Great opportunity exists for an aged care leader to join The Salvation Army as the Aged Care Centre Manager, who is committed to best care outcomes for our residents at Bethesda Aged Care Centre located in Rockhampton.

Bethesda Aged Care Centre is located in Central Queensland and is just a few kilometres south-west of the city centre Rockhampton. This single level residential aged care centre is surrounded by gardens and throughout the centre there is plenty of natural light. Offering all levels of care including short term respite care, it is a lively centre with a strong sense of community, clean fresh rooms and extensive lifestyle programs to cater to a range of individual preferences.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Aged Care Centre Manager with The Salvation Army you will be responsible for the operational management of the centre, supported closely by a Clinical Care Coordinator and a multidisciplinary team of care staff, including RNs, CSEs, Lifestyle, etc.

Areas of responsibility include compliance, staff management, financial management, occupancy and AN-ACC requirements to support the needs of our residents. You will report to and be supported by an experienced and collaborative Area Manager and you'll collaborate with our Support Services team and specialist professionals in aged care.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you will have:

• An understanding, empathy, appreciation and the ability to promote the values and ethos of The Salvation Army
• Unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse through AHPRA
• Demonstrated financial management experience in successfully managing a residential aged care home
• Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal/communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to lead staff in the achievement of organisational goals and objectives within a team environment
• Knowledge of all relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, Professional Standards and Guidelines applicable to the role and willingness to work within same
• Demonstrated industry knowledge with emphasis on business performance including AN-ACC, occupancy, people management and budget controls
• A desire to maintain and improve standards whilst understanding the need for strong financial stewardship and business performance
• Knowledge and understanding of administrative processes, systems and service delivery
• National NDIS Workers Screening Check
