CSIROCare Clayton is a not-for-profit childcare centre providing care on the CSIRO site and near Monash University’s Clayton Campus. We are seeking a part-time Centre Cook who will prepare fresh, nutritious meals for young children and support their health with meals that meet dietary needs and allergies.

Centre hours are 7:30am–6:00pm, Monday to Friday; this role is 6 hours daily, preferably 9–3, with minor flexibility. Join a child-safe, inclusive team committed to healthy eating and safety.

Competenze

• Relevant food handling and food safety training.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• Mandatory Reporting training completed within the last six months.
• Foundations of Child Safety Training – Courses 1 and 2.
• A qualification in cookery or experience preparing meals in a childcare or similar setting is desirable.
• Current First Aid, CPR, anaphylaxis and asthma training is desirable.

Mansioni

• Be the centre's Food Safety Supervisor.
• Prepare and serve nutritious, age-appropriate meals and snacks in line with the centre’s menu.
• Safely accommodate food allergies, intolerances and other dietary requirements.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised kitchen.
• Follow the centre’s food safety procedures, including safe food storage, preparation and temperature monitoring.
• Manage food supplies, stock rotation and ordering as required.
• Communicate with educators and management about children’s dietary needs.
• Follow the centre’s child safety policies and procedures.
