Job summary

Goodstart Early Learning in Wangaratta is seeking a part-time Cook to prepare delicious, healthy meals for children and support daily activities with a focus on safety and nutrition. You will join a close-knit centre team and contribute to a high-quality learning environment.

As a Cook, you’ll plan menus, order supplies with the Centre Director, and ensure all food handling complies with safety standards. The role offers a supportive workplace and competitive pay above the award.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience cooking within a childcare setting.
• Current Victoria Working with Children Check.
• Certificate of Completion for the National Child Safety Foundation Training, completed via Gecckoplatform.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies.
• Plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director.
• Maintain high standards of food safety in storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks.

In this role, you will:

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
• Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
• Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
