Job summary

Whiz Kidz Early Learning Centre & Preschool in Northmead seeks a Centre Chef for a permanent part-time role (Mon–Tue, 7am–3pm). You will prepare nutritious meals for up to 83 children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, ensuring high hygiene and safety standards.

Experience in childcare or hospitality and commercial cookery qualifications are preferred. You will work with educators and the Centre Director to meet dietary needs, manage stock, and deliver meals that delight young palates while maintaining

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar childcare, commercial or hospitality setting.
• Ability to adjust meals for different dietary requirements and allergies.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Flexible, enthusiastic and positive attitude.
• Good time management to ensure mealtimes run smoothly.
• Ability to work independently and manage the kitchen efficiently.
• Current National Foundations Child Safety Training certificate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for up to 83 children daily.
• Menu planning to meet children's nutritional needs.
• Cater for allergies and dietary requirements.
• Stock control and preparing shopping lists.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe kitchen.
• Complete basic food preparation and cooking tasks.
• Record all food and temperature checks.
• Collaborate with Centre Director and educators to meet dietary needs.
