Job summary

Central Coast Local Health District is seeking a Cardiac Technologist Grade 2 to deliver high-quality diagnostic cardiology services across the Central Coast. You will perform a range of cardiac investigations within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring compassionate and professional patient care.

The role requires postgraduate qualifications in cardiac ultrasound, ASAR accreditation, and experience in echocardiography, ECG, Holter, and device interrogation.

Qualifications

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound or equivalent required.
  • Current ASAR Accredited Cardiac Sonographer status and echocardiography experience.
  • Right to work in Australia.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist with echocardiography procedures (TTE, TOE, stress echo).
  • Conduct ECGs, Holter monitoring, stress testing, and device interrogations where trained.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and cardiology reports.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in quality improvement and service development activities.
  • Support staff education and ongoing learning within the department.
  • Maintain ASAR accreditation and professional competencies.

About the Opportunity

As a Cardiac Technologist Grade 2, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic cardiology services to patients across the Central Coast. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will perform a range of cardiac investigations and procedures while ensuring patients receive professional, compassionate, and respectful care.

This position plays a key role in supporting timely diagnosis, treatment planning, and continuity of care. In this role you will:

  • Perform and assist with echocardiography procedures, including TTE, TOE, and stress echocardiography.
  • Conduct ECGs, Holter monitoring, stress testing, and device interrogations where trained.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and cardiology reports.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and the broader healthcare team.
  • Participate in quality improvement and service development activities.
  • Support staff education and ongoing learning within the department.
  • Maintain ASAR accreditation and professional competencies.
  • A Post Graduate Diploma in Cardiac Ultrasound or equivalent.
  • Current ASAR Accredited Cardiac Sonographer status.
  • Experience in echocardiography and cardiac diagnostic testing.
  • ECG, Holter, stress testing, and device interrogation experience, or willingness to learn.
  • A patient-centred and professional approach to care.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to quality improvement and ongoing professional development.
