Job summary

Victorian Petfood Processors in Camperdown VIC is seeking a Cattle Collection Driver on a casual basis to join our road transport team. Based in Tesbury VIC 3260, you will collect cattle from farms and loading points for transfer to our processing facility.

You will conduct pre-journey inspections, load and secure stock, maintain records, and comply with safety procedures. A valid driver’s licence for the vehicle category and A & B firearms license are required, plus stock-transport experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate cattle collection vehicle to transport stock from farms to the processing facility
• Conduct pre-journey vehicle inspections and maintain records of vehicle condition
• Load and secure cattle safely following company protocols

• Communicate with farmers and colleagues to schedule collections
• Maintain documentation of collections including origins and conditions

Victorian Petfood Processors – Camperdown VIC

Victorian Petfood Processors is seeking a Cattle Collection Driver to join our team on a casual basis. This is a key operational role within our road transport division, responsible for the safe and timely collection of cattle from various locations. Based in Tesbury VIC 3260, you will play an essential part in our supply chain. This role is vital to maintaining the continuity of our production operations and upholding our commitment to responsible animal handling.

What you'll be doing

Operating a cattle collection vehicle to transport stock from farms and collection points to our processing facility

Conducting pre-journey vehicle inspections and maintaining accurate records of vehicle condition and maintenance

Loading and securing cattle safely in accordance with company protocols

Adhering to all road safety regulations and maintaining a valid MR License.

Communicating effectively with farmers, collection coordinators and other team members to schedule and confirm collection times

Maintaining accurate documentation of collections, including livestock numbers, origins and condition reports

Performing routine vehicle maintenance checks and reporting any mechanical issues promptly

What we're looking for

A valid driver's licence appropriate for the vehicle category being operated

Current A & B Firearms License

Proven experience in stock transport or agricultural transport roles

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to work flexibly according to collection schedules

A professional and courteous manner when dealing with farmers and colleagues
