Job summary

BHP in Mackay, Queensland, is seeking skilled Engine Rebuilders to join our team. Based at the Mackay Repair Centre on a 4/3 roster, you will lead the strip-down, inspection, rebuild and testing of Caterpillar C Series, 3400/3500, Cummins QSK, Detroit or similar engines.

Be home every night with this lifestyle roster. You will work in a dedicated rebuild team, ensure OEM standards, contribute to safety and quality, and help train maintainers while delivering reliable outcomes for mining,

Qualifications

• Proven experience rebuilding Caterpillar C Series / 3200 Series engines or similar off-highway diesel engines.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Trade qualification (Diesel Fitter, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or equivalent) preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Strip, clean, inspect and rebuild Caterpillar engines to specification.
• Assess engine condition prior to rebuild and identify required parts.
• Operate with a focus on quality, safety and efficiency.
• Use precision measuring tools and follow OEM data.
• Work collaboratively with the workshop team to meet turnaround targets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in rebuild processes.
• Detailed service reports.
