South West Healthcare’s Food Services team is seeking a motivated Catering Services Assistant at the Warrnambool campus. You’ll help deliver nutritious meals to patients, supporting recovery and wellbeing while serving in our cafs with a friendly, professional approach.

The role involves plating, serving, water service, trolley transport, stock replenishment, and cleaning of equipment. A rotating roster includes weekends; experience in café service and a food safety certificate is advantageous.

This is a hands on role where your work directly contributes to the comfort and wellbeing of patients, visitors, and staff across our Warrnambool campus

Position overview

• Employment Type: Part time (36 hours per fortnight), Ongoing
• Roster: Rotating, including weekends - core sifts between 6:30am and 7:15pm
• Location: Warrnambool Campus
• Classification: Food and Domestic Assistant Grade 2
• Salary Range: $55,648.32 pro rata, per annum

In this role, you will help deliver fresh, nutritious meals to patients, supporting their recovery, and wellbeing. Every meal you serve contributes to a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff across our Warrnambool campus.

As a Catering Services Assistant, you will:

• Plate, present, and serve meals with care and attention to detail
• Provide patients with water and fluid jugs

• Wash and clean equipment used in food and beverage distribution
• Serve in our onsite cafés, providing friendly and professional customer service

Our Food Services team is welcoming, hardworking, and passionate about patient care. We work closely with hospital staff to make sure meals are delivered safely, on time, and to a high standard. You will be supported by experienced colleagues and supervisors who value teamwork, reliability, and a positive attitude.

What you bring

To succeed in this role, you will:

• Work effectively as part of a team
• Communicate clearly and manage your time well
• Be friendly, patient-focused, and professional
• Be flexible to work a rotating roster, including weekends

It would be an advantage (but not essential) if you have:

• Customer service or café experience
• Barista training or experience
• A current HLTFS207C - Follow Basic Food Safety Practices certificate, or willingness to obtain one
