Job summary

Scalabrini Communities is seeking a casual Catering Assistant (Kitchen Hand) in Chipping Norton to support the Executive Chef with on-site meal production for residents. You will handle food prep, plating, and service, ensuring a welcoming dining experience in a respectful aged care setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation within a commercial kitchen, preferably in aged care or health services.

Responsibilities

• The preparation and service of high-quality, nutritious meals for residents on-site.
• Food preparation, basic cooking, food presentation and plating, and food delivery/service to dining areas.
• Providing exceptional customer service, ensuring residents receive a warm welcome and individualised attention.
• Complying with food safety standards and relevant regulations.
• Assisting with stock control, rotation of stock, and receipting deliveries.
• Contributing to a harmonious team culture based on mutual respect and trust.

We are looking for passionate, caring, and highly organised Catering Assistants (Kitchen Hand) to join our team on a Casual basis in Chipping Norton!

Working closely with the Executive Chef you will be responsible for:

• The preparation and service of high-quality, nutritious meals for the residents on-site.
• Food preparation, basic cooking, food presentation and plating, and food delivery/service to dining areas.
• Providing exceptional customer service, ensuring that residents receive a warm welcome, individualised attention, and responsive service.
• Complying with all food and safety requirements as regulated and scheduled.
• Assisting with stock control, rotation of stock, and receipting deliveries.
• Contributing to a harmonious and cooperative team culture based on mutual respect and trust.

The successful applicants will display:

• A great attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• A friendly personality to greet all residents and their families with a smile.
• Previous experience in food preparation within a commercial kitchen, preferably in an aged care or health services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts AM/PM weekdays and weekends.
• Compliance with required Food and Safety Standards and relevant legislation.
• Good communication skills and a strong commitment to customer service excellence.
• Certificate III in Hospitality or equivalent qualification desirable.
