Job summary

Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd is seeking a Procurement Category Specialist to join our Brisbane procurement team. You will lead sourcing activities, draft procurement documentation, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver fit-for-purpose sourcing solutions across the business.

As a key driver of commercial outcomes, you will manage tenders, engage suppliers, negotiate contracts and ensure governance throughout the procurement lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in multi-site procurement, sourcing, contract administration or related commercial role.
• Experience supporting or leading RFQ, RFP and tender processes, including evaluations and supplier engagement.
• Strong analytical skills to assess supplier proposals, pricing structures and opportunities.
• Ability to build relationships with stakeholders across functions and locations.
• Understanding of procurement processes, sourcing documentation and compliance.
• Organisational skills to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
• Proficiency with MS Office; exposure to ERP or contract management systems is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing activities: manage RFQs, RFPs and tender processes from planning to award and contracting.
• Develop procurement documentation: scopes of work, pricing, templates, contracts and approvals.
• Partner with stakeholders: work with operational teams and executives to translate requirements into sourcing solutions.
• Drive supplier engagement: negotiations, onboarding, contract implementation and performance management.
• Deliver commercial insights: market and pricing analysis to support decisions.
• Maintain compliance & governance: ensure documentation and processes meet policy and regulation.
• Drive continuous improvement: identify and implement sourcing and contracting enhancements.
