Job summary

CASPA Services Ltd is seeking Therapeutic Care Workers for Port Macquarie on a casual and part-time basis. The role focuses on trauma-informed care for children, young people, and families, with training in Coffs Harbour possibly required.

Fixed-term funding until 30 June 2027, with a 24/7 shift roster including sleepovers and nights, and weekend work. Qualification includes a Diploma in Community Services.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Community Services (completed, in progress, or willing to obtain).
• For Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander applicants, a qualification is desirable but experience and training eligibility are acceptable.
• Willingness to obtain essential qualification if not held.

Responsibilities

• Form and maintain professional, nurturing relationships with children and young people by building trust through active engagement.
• Act as a positive role model, guiding youth in life skills and self-worth.
• Support family involvement and facilitate visits to promote positive familial relationships.
• Encourage positive relationships with peers and significant others.
• Assist the child/young person to participate in decision-making for activities.
• Show empathy toward trauma and respond sensitively to pain-based behavior.
