Job description

Casual Swim School Customer Service Officer

This is your chance to dive in and be part of the next chapter at North Sydney Olympic Pool - a world-class aquatic and fitness destination beneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Following her redevelopment, this Australian legend is set to redefine leisure industry excellence, and we’re seeking passionate individuals to help shape the culture and deliver outstanding experiences for our community.

North Sydney Council proudly owns and operates North Sydney Olympic Pool as part of its commitment to the vibrant North Sydney local government area on the city’s picturesque lower North Shore. With around 400 employees supporting 77,000 residents across 10 square kilometres of harbourside land, Council is committed to creating exceptional places and services that bring people together.

You’ll join a dedicated team working in a safe, inclusive environment — where both staff and the community can thrive.

The role

We are currently seeking highly motivated casual Swim School Customer Service Officers (CSO) to join our new NSOP team. The successful applicant will be responsible for attending to the Swim School reception, aquatics administration, and for wet-deck supervision during lesson times.

You will be one of the faces of NSOP Learn to Swim, setting the positive and professional tone for the new swim school driving a welcoming and professional atmosphere. The role comes with the opportunity to participate in peripheral aquatic programs and activities such as hosting birthday parties.

This is an exciting and unique chance to be part of the core team that welcomes the North Sydney community back into the pool. You will be an original member of one of Sydney’s most iconic sites, making a difference, and contributing to the success of the swim school from its inception.

The Swim School is a 7-day operation:

Weekdays 9am to 12pm and 3pm to 7pm

The person

Swim School Customer Services Officers act as the primary point of contact for all Learn to Swim and Aquatic Programs customers, whilst also providing guidance and assistance to staff, students and customers on deck during session times. This role will suit a person with demonstrated experience and knowledge of swimming technique as well as skills in reception and/or administration.

The ideal applicant is people-focused with a commitment to consistency and quality, who achieves these outcomes via excellent verbal and written communication, adaptability, and teamwork. The Swim School CSO will thrive on creating memorable experiences and invest in the best outcomes for all customers. A desire for continuous learning and a demonstrated ability to be flexible and work with others to achieve best practice outcomes will be highly regarded.

When you join North Sydney Council, you become part of a team dedicated to delivering a wide range of high-quality services to residents and the broader community. Our goal is to ensure the revitalised North Sydney Olympic Pool meets these same high standards—offering an outstanding facility where the customer experience is valued just as highly as the breathtaking views.

If you’re passionate about helping others, love working in a vibrant community setting, and have a flair for customer service, we’d love to hear from you!
