Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a casual Sales Assistant in Grafton, NSW to support day-to-day store operations and create an engaging in-store experience for customers and the community.

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will handle POS, merchandise, and customer service with a flexible weekend roster; prior retail experience is valued but not essential. The role requires alignment with TSA values and willingness to work across locations in the retail area.

Qualifications

• Retail sales experience is preferred but not essential.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work weekends and across locations within the retail area.

Responsibilities

• Retail sales and operation of Point of Sale devices.
• Sort, price and prepare donations for sale.
• Assist in development and coordination of visual merchandising and store presentation.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Display stock in correct departments, following policy and procedure.
• Follow Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures.
• Demonstrate TSA core values in all work activities.

About the Role:

An opportunity for a talented, values-driven Casual Sales Assistant to support day-to-day operations and contribute to an inspiring in-store experience for our team, customers and community members.

Reporting to the Area Manager, this casual role is based in Grafton , NSW.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Retail General Industry Award, Level 1 .

Key Responsibilities:

• Retail sales and operation of Point of Sale devices
• Sort, price and prepare donations for sale.
• Assist in the development and coordination visual merchandising and store presentation
• Provide exceptional Customer Service
• Display stock in correct departments, following policy and procedure
• Follow Occupational Health and Safety policy and procedures
• Demonstrate TSA core values in all work related activities

About You:

• Retail sales experience - highly regarded but not essential
• Strong customer service skills
• Genuine passion and ability to deliver outstanding results
• Alignment with our values of integrity, respect, compassion, collaboration, and diversity
• High energy, hand-on individual with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexibly to work a rolling roster including weekends
• Preparedness to work across various locations in the retail area
