Job summary

Gateways Support Services in Geelong, VIC, is seeking casual Residential Support Workers to empower people with disability to live independently and participate in the community.

You will provide hands-on support, maintain a safe and inclusive environment, and record progress and incidents accurately. The role requires excellent communication, empathy, and a valid Victorian licence along with checks (WWCC, NDIS worker orientation) or willingness to obtain them.

About the role:

Working as a casual Residential Support Worker across our services in Geelong, you will empower the people we support to live independently and participate in the community. Providing hands on support while ensuring a safe, inclusive and empowering environment, you will become an integral part of their care team.

Duties will include:

• Assisting with personal care, daily living tasks and household duties.
• Supporting community participation, social engagement and recreational activities.
• Encouraging independence by helping build skills and achieve goals.
• Building meaningful relationships to provide person-centred support.
• Maintaining accurate and thorough records of activities, progress and incidents.

Available shifts may include:

• Morning: 6:00am-9:00am
• Day: 9:00am-3:00pm
• Afternoon/evening: 3:00pm-10:00pm, including sleepover
• Active night: 10:00pm-6:00am

What you will bring to the role:

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to problem solve
• Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
• Ability to accurately record case notes
• A passion for supporting people to live their best lives
• Current CPR, First Aid, Working with Children Check, NDIS Check & completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Module (or willingness to obtain)
• Victorian drivers licence
