Role Summary:

We’re on the lookout for a compassionate, confident and self-motivated Casual Registered Nurse to join our dedicated night-shift rotation in our Canberra community.

This isn’t your average nursing gig. You’ll be delivering highly specialised, person-centred care to Members with complex clinical needs, including airway management, tracheostomy care and critical life-sustaining equipment within patient homes. It doesn’t get any more personal … or rewarding … than that!

Overview of Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, documenting changes and reporting.
• Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
• Assist with daily living activities and ensure patient comfort.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and adhere to confidentiality protocols.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.

Essential Requirements:

• Registered Nurse qualification with current AHPRA registration.
• Minimum of 2 years of paid nursing experience.
• ACT Working with Vulnerable People Check
• National Police Check (within 12 months)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• NDIS Effective Communications Module
• NDIS Safe and Enjoyable Meals Module
• Current First Aid (3 years) & CPR (annual)
• Immunisation Record – Influenza (annual)
• Reliable transport to and from shifts
• Immediate start and availability throughout Christmas peak period.
• Available for a minimum of 2 consecutive night shifts.
• Flexibility to work night shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
• Confident clinical and critical thinking skills.

Preferred:

• Experience with airway management including tracheostomy
• Experience with airway management including ventilation
• Experience with Enteral Management
