Job summary

Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is seeking a casual Registered Nurse to join the Auburn District Hospital Emergency Department. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate urgent nursing care in a fast-paced ED, delivering patient-centred care within NSW Health policies.

Work within a multidisciplinary team, maintain professional competencies through ongoing education, and contribute to learning and safety while enjoying flexible casual employment and a supportive workplace.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA is essential.
• Experience in emergency department settings is highly desirable.

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care within your scope of practice and professional standards
• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care in accordance with NSW Health policies, procedures and clinical guidelines
• Respond effectively to changing clinical priorities while managing competing demands in a fast-paced environment
• Support a culture of learning by contributing to the development of staff, students, patients and carers
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing education, training and clinical skill development

Essential Criteria

• Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

• Demonstrated ability to create positive relationships with patients, carers and loved ones to achieve patient empowerment, information sharing and confidence in nursing staff.
• Demonstrated extensive and recent emergency nursing skills and experience
• Proven ability to work independently with initiative, as well as collaboratively and respectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proven commitment to continuing professional development.
• Demonstrate critical thinking abilities, prioritisation and communication skills, whilst effectively following directions.
