Job summary

Civeo Australia is seeking qualified Refrigeration Technicians to join our casual relief workforce supporting remote accommodation villages across Queensland. The role offers flexible casual employment to provide leave coverage and operational support across our village network, with optional assignments in South Australia and swing opportunities.

You’ll travel across Coppabella, Nebo, Dysart, Moranbah and surrounding locations, joining a hands-on team in a dynamic, safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Trade qualified Refrigeration Mechanic
• Current Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARCtick)
• Current QBCC Electrical Occupational Licence
• Current Australian C Class (manual) Driver’s Licence
• Current LVR/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain and maintain annually)
• Demonstrated experience in reactive and preventative maintenance across refrigeration/HVAC systems

Responsibilities

• Deliver planned, preventative and breakdown refrigeration and air conditioning maintenance
• Fault-find and repair refrigeration and HVAC systems safely and efficiently
• Maintain, service and repair cold rooms, split systems, ducted air conditioning and heat pump hot water systems
• Perform testing, commissioning and preventative maintenance activities
• Inspect equipment for defects, hazards and compliance requirements
• Maintain accurate records and coordinate with contractors
• Support site maintenance and uphold strong safety standards
• Participate in on-call/after-hours requirements while on swing

Civeo Facility Management is seeking qualified Refrigeration Technicians to join our casual relief workforce supporting remote accommodation villages across Queensland. Opportunities are offered on a flexible casual basis to provide leave coverage and operational support across our village network.

For candidates interested in additional swing opportunities, optional assignments may also be available at our South Australian operations. Civeo will support suitable candidates with obtaining any required South Australian licensing or registration requirements.

These positions are specifically designed to provide leave coverage across our village network and form part of a genuine casual talent pool. Work is offered as operational requirements arise, primarily to cover annual leave, roster gaps and other planned absences across our sites.

While coverage opportunities may be recurring throughout the year, these roles are not casual-to-permanent positions and there is no guarantee of ongoing or full-time employment.

We aim to work around your availability, with assignments typically operating on 7-day swing patterns.

This is a hands-on role where you'll spend your time in the field, travelling across multiple remote mining villages including Coppabella, Nebo, Dysart, Moranbah and surrounding locations.

Whether you're between projects, looking to supplement your current roster, or seeking flexible casual work, this role offers the opportunity to work across multiple sites, gain exposure to different operations, and choose assignments that fit your availability.

About You

• Trade qualified Refrigeration Mechanic
• Current Refrigerant Handling Licence (ARCtick)
• Current QBCC Electrical Occupational Licence
• Current Australian C Class (manual) Driver's Licence
• Current LVR/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain and maintain annually)
• Demonstrated experience in reactive and preventative maintenance, fault finding and repairs across refrigeration and HVAC systems
• Experience in refrigeration, cold rooms and commercial HVAC systems
• Previous experience in remote villages, mining, facilities, or high-volume service environments is highly regarded
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Committed to maintaining a safe, inclusive and high-performing work environment
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and National Police Clearance
• Valid working rights within Australia
