Job summary

Holmesglen Institute in Victoria is seeking casual academic staff to mark Bachelor of Nursing assessments and provide timely, constructive feedback. You will use approved rubrics, ensure fair marking, and participate in moderation activities.

The role requires current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, a Bachelor of Nursing with a postgraduate qualification, and strong communication skills to support student learning.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Bachelor of Nursing degree with postgraduate qualification (Master’s or equivalent) in nursing or a relevant specialty.
• Experience assessing student work against established assessment criteria, marking guides and rubrics.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, constructive and relevant feedback to students.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to apply assessment standards consistently, fairly and within required timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Mark allocated student assessments using approved marking guides, rubrics and assessment criteria.
• Provide students with clear, constructive and relevant feedback that aligns with assessment requirements and supports their learning.
• Apply marking criteria consistently and fairly across student submissions, supporting equitable assessment practices across the cohort.
• Participate in moderation activities and marking briefings, responding to feedback and making amendments where required.
• Identify and elevate academic integrity matters, unclear submissions or significant student concerns to the Subject Coordinator through the appropriate process.
