Job summary

Calvary Mater Newcastle is seeking casual Assistant in Nursing (AIN) to join its multidisciplinary team across Palliative Care, General Medicine and Medical Oncology. The role involves direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and reporting patient observations in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Enrolment in a Bachelor of Nursing degree, Diploma of Nursing or completion of Certificate III in Health Services Assistance HTL32507/33115. Transcripts must be provided.
• Successful completion of all 1st Year Nursing or Diploma subjects and acute care placement (minimum 2 weeks in hospital) or completion of Certificate III in Health Services Assistance HTL32507/33115. Transcripts must be provided.
• Demonstrated and effective communication skills; demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team; ability to respond quickly in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Report all patient observations to the appropriate Registered Nurse.
• Support to the nursing team in delivering nursing care in an acute care environment as directed by the Registered Nurse.
• Provide direct care activities to patients in accordance with the nursing care plan under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
