Job summary

Rogers Transport Pty Ltd in Brisbane seeks an experienced MC Interstate Driver for casual leave relief. The role covers interstate freight on an as-needed basis with weekly pay and allowances for loading, unloading and other duties.

You will hold a current MC licence, have at least five years of interstate driving, and be flexible for short-notice shifts. NHVAS knowledge and safe-driving focus are valued.

Qualifications

• Current MC driver’s licence.
• At least five years of interstate driving experience.
• Availability for casual annual leave and sick leave coverage.
• Flexibility to accept short-notice work where possible.
• Strong knowledge of regulated driving hours and work-diary requirements.
• BFM accreditation advantageous; dangerous goods experience is helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Transport freight safely and efficiently to interstate destinations.
• Select practical and time-efficient routes.
• Complete vehicle pre-start inspections and required documentation.
• Comply with road laws, fatigue-management requirements and company procedures.
• Ensure vehicles are loaded and unloaded safely and in accordance with customer requirements.
• Check that all freight is appropriately restrained in accordance with load-restraint guidelines.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the allocated vehicle.
• Communicate professionally with customers, operations staff and other drivers.

The Role

We are seeking experienced MC Interstate Drivers based in Brisbane to provide casual relief when our permanent drivers are on annual leave or sick leave.

Work is offered as required, with no guaranteed weekly hours or ongoing roster. Planned annual leave coverage may be arranged in advance, while sick leave coverage may be offered at short notice.

This role suits an experienced driver seeking occasional interstate work who can be flexible with availability. You will receive weekly pay, with additional payments for loading, unloading and other duties.

Rates of Pay – Paid Weekly

• $0.60 per kilometre
• $37.75 per load or unload
• $37.75 for splitting trailers
• $37.75 for additional drops, when required
• $57.80 overnight allowance
• Additional payments for washing your truck
• Additional payments for packaged and bulk dangerous goods loading, where appropriately licensed
• If you are held over and notified after 12:00 pm, you will be paid for the day

Minimum Requirements

• Current MC driver’s licence.
• At least five years of interstate driving experience.
• Availability for casual annual leave and sick leave coverage.
• Flexibility to accept short-notice work where possible.
• Strong knowledge of regulated driving hours and work-diary requirements.
• Experience operating under NHVAS Mass and Maintenance Management requirements.
• BFM accreditation or experience would be advantageous.
• Dangerous goods experience and licensing would be advantageous but are not essential.
• Strong communication skills and professional presentation.
• A reliable, safety-focused and responsible approach to work.
