Job summary

Bluestone Mines Tasmania Joint Venture Pty Ltd is seeking a casual Logging Geologist to perform geological and geotechnical logging of diamond drill core at the Renison mine in Tasmania. The role involves preparing cores for assay submission and documenting geological data for both underground and surface operations.

The successful candidate will hold a geology qualification, a C-class licence, and be proficient in Word and Excel, with AcQuire, Access or Surpac experience considered

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Geology.
• Experience logging core is required.
• C class driver’s licence is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).
• AcQuire, Access and Surpac experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

About The Role

We are looking for a Logging Geologist on a casual basis, who will be responsible for Geological and geotechnical logging of diamond drill core (including the preparation of core for assay submission). Collection, collation and documentation of geological and geotechnical data in relation to the Renison mine and peripheral operations whether underground or at surface.

Core Responsibilities

• Geological logging of diamond drill core.
• Data entry of geological logging information.
• Ensure all directions of the Senior Resource Geologist and Geology Manager are met.
• Ensure core mark up and sampling conducted by Geological Technicians is to the highest possible standard.
• Assist with general core shed work, including sampling, core delivery and manual handling.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have a tertiary qualification in Geology and previous experience logging core. You will have a c class drivers’ licence and be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel. AcQuire, Access experience and Surpac skills will be highly advantageous.

The ideal candidate will be able to work, both un-supervised and as part of a team whilst demonstrating strong communication and organisational skills enabling you to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
