Job summary

Tomingley Gold Operations is seeking a casual Light Vehicle Mechanic to cover leave relief. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and repair components while supporting underground mining equipment alongside trained tradespeople.

Residential mine with no FIFO/DIDO; 12-hour shifts are required, and a safety-first mindset plus strong communication are essential for the team’s success.

Qualifications

• Light Vehicle/Automotive Trade Certification is required.
• Current Driver’s Licence is required.
• A commitment to safety is essential.
• Good communication skills and a can-do attitude are needed.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and police check.
• Availability to work 12-hour shifts.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

• Perform vehicle preventative maintenance tasks
• Repair or replace components as required
• Inspection vehicles and diagnosing any required work.
• Be prepared to assist heavy vehicle tradespeople on underground mining equipment to perform preventative and corrective maintenance.

About Us

Tomingley Gold Mine, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is located adjacent to the village of Tomingley, 50 kms south of Dubbo in Central NSW. The operation consists of both underground and open cut mines and a 1Mtpa processing plant on site that produces gold bullion. The current workforce consists of approximately 225 permanent employees in professional, technical, mining, processing and trades roles.

The development of an additional open cut and underground mines 3 kms south of the Tomingley deposits have just been approved.With this exciting expansion, there is an expected mine life beyond 2030.
