Job summary

Calvary Adelaide Hospital is seeking a Casual Chef to join our busy private hospital kitchen in South Australia. You will work as part of a team delivering breakfast, lunch and dinner for 250+ meals daily, with rotational shifts and under pressure to maintain quality.

You will bring commis chef experience in a fast-paced environment and hold a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery. Strong communication, organisational skills and knowledge of HACCP are essential, along with flexibility to work

Qualifications

• Experience as a Commis chef in a fast-paced environment.
• Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery required.
• Strong communication, organisational skills, and grooming standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain high quality.
• Capacity to multitask and adapt in a dynamic kitchen.
• Willingness to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and production of food as required.
• Prepare and present special menu items with variety and flair.
• Review stock and ensure rotation and minimise wastage.
• Keep all working areas clean and ensure equipment is maintained during shifts.
• Undertake Food Safety Supervisor training.
• Place stock orders on a rotational basis.
