Job summary

Ranier, part of the Charles Parsons Group, is seeking an experienced Garment Technician to join our team in a casual capacity. This hands-on role supports Schoolwear garments, ensuring technical accuracy, cost and timing standards.

You will translate design intent into accurate specifications, manage technical packs, measurements and supplier coordination, and work closely with design, pattern making, sample room, sales and customer service teams to move technical activities efficiently.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of fabrics and garment construction.
• Ability to interpret designs and translate into production specs.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical packs and BOMs.
• Ability to coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage Schoolwear garment, fabric, trim and accessory specifications from brief through to production ready status.
• Translate design concepts into clear, technically accurate and manufacturable products.
• Prepare and maintain technical packs, bills of materials, measurement specifications, construction details, sketches/flats, costings and supplier information.
• Review samples for fit, measurements and construction, documenting corrections and approvals.
• Oversee quality control for prototype samples to meet standards before approval.
• Monitor sample status, approvals, critical paths and delivery risks.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve technical, quality, cost and timing issues.
