Job summary

Uniting is seeking a Casual Educator to join our Before and After School Care service in Greystanes. You’ll help create nurturing, play-based environments and build positive relationships with children and families.

This fixed-term contract offers flexible shifts, opportunities to grow your early childhood skills, and alignment with Uniting’s compassionate, respectful values. GECKKO certificate and Working with Children Check are preferred.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education or Children Services preferred.
• Experience in OSHC industry is desirable.
• Passionate about working with children of all ages.
• GECKKO training completed.
• Effective communication with colleagues, families and community members.
• Adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, aligned with Uniting values.

Job description

Uniting OSHC Greystanes has a long-standing connection with the local community and is a welcoming place where children’s voices are heard and families feel connected.

We’re looking for a Casual Educator with flexible availability to join our friendly team. This is a fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension.

Our service provides Before and After School Care for up to 120 children.

Our operating hours:

• 7:00am – 9:00am, Monday to Friday
• 2:55pm – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday

Your work may include:

• Developing positive relationships that support children, their families and community.
• Facilitating play-based learning environments that are responsive to children’s interest, strengths, and abilities.
• Documenting children’s learning through observations and assessments against learning outcomes

Who we’re looking for

• Certificate III in Early Childhood Education or Children Services (preferred)
• Experience working in the OSHC industry
• Be passionate about working with children of all ages.
• Completed GECKKO training
• Have the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, families and community members
• You’ll be adaptable, empathetic and resourceful, and be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
