Job summary

Unisson Disability is seeking casual Disability Support Workers to assist clients with intellectual disabilities in St Ives. The role offers variety across clients, with activities like sensory exploration, cooking, arts and crafts, and community outings.

Ideal candidates will be able to work flexible hours, hold a NSW driver’s license, use their own vehicle or drive a Unisson vehicle, and have enthusiasm, resilience and a person-centred approach. Prior relevant experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people with disabilities or in a similar role.
• Holder of NSW Driver's License (P2/Full) or willing to obtain.
• Own vehicle or willingness to drive Unisson vehicle.
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Working with Children's Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check as required.

Responsibilities

• Support clients to participate in activities within the home and community.
• Assist with personal care per the client’s person-centred plan.
• Use manual handling techniques as specified in the plan.
• Transport clients to appointments or activities by car or public transport.
• Respect dignity, culture, and beliefs of clients and families.
• Contribute to developing, implementing, and reviewing client plans.
• Work cooperatively as part of a team and treat colleagues with respect.
• Respond to incidents per Unisson policies and ND S Quality Safeguards Standards.
