People Care Services Pty invites applications for a Casual Disability Support Worker based in Mackay, QLD. You will empower individuals with disabilities to live more independently and participate in daily activities.

You will provide personal care, facilitate community activities, maintain records, and collaborate with the care team to develop personalised support plans. A compassionate, adaptable approach is essential, with a commitment to quality care.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to enhancing their quality of life.
• Previous experience in disability support, aged care, or healthcare preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with your clients.
• A caring, patient, and empathetic nature, with the ability to adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each individual.
• A valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation
• Completion of a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification is highly regarded
• Must possess a valid NDIS Worker Screening Check at the time of application
• Must hold current First Aid and CPR certification at the time of application
• Valid National Police Check (no older than 6 months)
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa
• All four NDIS modules (Worker Orientation Module, New Worker Induction Module, Supporting Safe & Effective Communication Module, and Supporting Safe & Enjoyable Meals Module) must be completed prior to application

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised support to individuals with disabilities to participate in daily activities and goals.
• Assist with personal care: grooming, dressing, and meal prep.
• Facilitate community engagement and recreational activities to promote inclusion.
• Maintain detailed care records and documentation.
• Collaborate with the care team to implement individualised support plans.
• Advocate for clients' rights and needs.
