Delmar Private Hospital is seeking a Casual Registered Nurse with strong Cardiac and Pulmonary care experience to join our multidisciplinary team. The role involves 1:1 patient assessments, medication education, ECGs and coordinating a Heart Wellness program.

The successful candidate will have active AHPRA registration, be able to contribute to a busy rehab service and work collaboratively across sites within the Macquarie Health Corporation.

Formación

• Registered Nurse with an active AHPRA registration.
• Desirable candidate will have a minimum 4 years experience in cardiology.
• Extensive knowledge of cardiac procedures, management of chronic cardiac conditions, ECG interpretation and medication management.
• Demonstrated ability to provide education to patients.
• Eligible Visa or Working Rights
• Current National Police Check
• Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team, with strong clinical reasoning.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake 1:1 assessments of patients in the Cardiac program.
• Discuss medications, educate patients about disease and symptoms.
• Perform ECG and complete full history-taking and psychological questionnaires.
• Support multidiscliplinary team during the 8–10 week cardiac rehab program.
• Educate patients during group sessions led by doctors, dietitians and therapists.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Casual Registered Nurse with significant experience and passion in Cardiac and Pulmonary care to join our dynamic, friendly and skilled multidisciplinary team.

Our highly experienced Cardiac Nurse is a vital part of the clinical treating team for patients who are attending our outpatient Day Program (Heart Wellness Program). Following assessment by our Rehabilitation Physicians, our Cardiac Nurses undertake thorough 1:1 assessments of patients, including discussing patient’s medication, education about their disease and symptoms, completing an ECG and full history-taking and psychological questionnaires, before our Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists then complete their functional and fitness assessments. Our patients will then attend classes 3 x week for 8-10 weeks, which includes educational sessions from the Cardiac Nurse, Dietitians, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers, alongside their progressive exercise program with the Therapists.

As part of Macquarie Health Corporation, the role could be utilised across multiple sites, such as Manly Waters Private Hospital and Longueville Private Hospital, based on demand.

You would need to demonstrate effective time management, with a high standard of written and verbal communication skills, and a strong willingness to work successfully as part of a team. You would have significant passion and experience in the Cardiac field and be able to provide an excellent level of knowledge and education to benefit our patients in this highly specialised program.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Registered Nurse with an active AHPRA registration
• Desirable candidate will have a minimum 4 years experience in cardiology
• Extensive knowledge of cardiac procedures, management of chronic cardiac conditions, ECG interpretation and medication management
• Postgraduate qualification in cardiology or relevant field is desirable
• Demonstrated ability to provide education to patients
• Eligible Visa or Working Rights
• Current National Police Check
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as within a team, exercising independent professional judgement and clinical reasoning
• Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
