Job summary
The Salvation Army Aged Care is seeking casual Care Service Employees to provide compassionate personal care and assistance to residents in a Sydney-based centre. You will work within care plans to deliver a homely, supportive environment with dignity and respect for every resident.
Responsibilities include routine health checks, wound care, continence support, medication assistance and documentation. Training is provided, and opportunities for career development exist within a well established
Qualifications
- Must have a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care and current First Aid Certificate
- Experience working with residents who are disadvantaged and have complex needs
- Training and experience in drug, alcohol and mental health care preferred
- Commitment to providing truly person-centred care and upholding WHS and infection control principles
Responsibilities
- Maintain privacy and dignity of residents at all times
- Respond to changes in residents' health and well-being
- Complete simple wound dressings
- Implement continence programs
- Attend to routine checks (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, blood sugar)
- Assist in managing residents with diabetes
- Maintain accurate documentation per shift
- Assist in developing resident care plans
