Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking a casual Support Service Employee to join our housekeeping team, assisting with kitchen, laundry and cleaning duties to support our residents.

Base pay is $29.98 per hour plus a 25% casual loading, with benefits including salary packaging and an extensive wellbeing program. This role requires compassion, teamwork and empathy for the elderly.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Genuine compassion, commitment and enthusiasm.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Empathy towards the elderly and respectful of their needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with full range of domestic duties.
• Clean picture frames, wall ornaments and sanitise all towel dispensers, light and air-conditioning switches.
• Be responsible for the general cleanliness of the kitchen, including all appliances, storage areas, work benches and floors.
• Prepare clothing, garments and linen for washing and drying and perform those duties using safe handling of laundry chemicals.
• Make beds, change linen, turn mattress where necessary.
• Wet dust all picture frames and wall ornaments.
• Wet wipe and sanitise all towel dispensers, light and air-conditioning switches.
• Wipe over all lights in front foyer, lounge, activities room, and at the entrance.
• Clean exhaust hoods in the kitchen.

The Role
