Job summary

The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency (VACCA) invites applications for the Nugel Case Support Worker role in Werribee, a full-time, ongoing position supporting Nugel Case Managers. You will undertake case work, referrals, calls and research within a culturally safe framework to assist families and children.

• Salary : $80,737.84 - $87,345.16, plus super and salary packaging

About the role

The role of the Nugel Case Support worker is to work cooperatively with Nugel Case Managers and under the direction of the Nugel Team Leader, to undertake a variety of case work and administration tasks, such as assisting with referrals, making phone calls, researching supports etc as part of the Nugel program.

The case support role will ensure that culturally appropriate court ordered contact is maintained between children and their families. The Case Support worker will provide transport for children and/or supervision of the contact as required.

About You

• Proven respect for Aboriginal cultures and societies, commitment to continuous learning, and high awareness of issues impacting Aboriginal communities.
• Possesses sound knowledge of child development and trauma, with the ability to engage and support children with behavioural challenges in a culturally safe manner.
• Maintains confidentiality, communicates effectively with children, young people, and families, and demonstrates strong written and conceptual abilities.
• Experience working in the child, youth, and family sectors will be highly valued, desirable
• Requirements: Valid Police Check, a Victorian Working with Children’s Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain) and a Victorian Driver Licence. Current COVID-19 vaccination (Strongly Recommended).
