Job summary

AIA Australia is seeking a dedicated Claims Specialist to manage a portfolio of income protection claims in a dynamic team. You will apply policy terms, assess medical and financial information, and ensure accurate payments with timely updates to members.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in life or general insurance and/or workers' compensation.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and manage a high volume of claims.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a portfolio of income protection claims.
• Provide support to the team through the management of a high volume of income protection claims, processing payments and providing regular status updates to members.
• Practically apply the policy terms and conditions, analyse medical, financial and other relevant information and engage the appropriate investigation tools to ensure claims are appropriately managed.
• Ensure that members are paid the appropriate rate and within set timeframes.
• Engage with appropriate parties such as Senior Assessors or rehabilitation to ensure sustainable return to work outcomes are facilitated and expected recovery times are understood.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a portfolio of income protection claims
• Provide support to the team through the management of a high volume of income protection claims, processing payments and providing regular status updates to members
• Practically apply the policy terms and conditions, analyse medical, financial and other relevant information and engage the appropriate investigation tools to ensure claims are appropriately managed

Successful applications will demonstrate:
