Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong practical carpentry skills including framing and finish carpentry.
• Proficient in safe use of hand and power tools in training settings.
• Vocational qualification in Carpentry (e.g., Certificate III) and current industry experience.
• Trainer and Assessor credential (e.g., TAE40122) or willingness to obtain.
• Knowledge of Australian VET standards, competency-based assessment, and RTO compliance.
• Ability to design and deliver engaging lessons for diverse learners, including international students.
• Strong communication, mentoring, and classroom management with a safety focus.
• Competence with digital tools for learning resources, LMS, and record keeping.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and current industry knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess Carpentry training in line with training packages and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare lesson plans and learning resources; deliver practical and theoretical classes.
• Demonstrate safe use of carpentry tools and techniques; assess learner competency.
• Provide structured feedback, maintain training records, and contribute to course improvements.
• Collaborate with colleagues, participate in validation activities, and follow safety procedures.
