Job summary

TAFE Queensland invites expressions of interest from experienced carpentry professionals who are passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of tradespeople. Join our Carpentry Talent Pool to deliver hands-on, industry-aligned training in a practical learning environment.

We support you to obtain required Training and Assessment credentials, with opportunities across residential and commercial construction, framing, finishing, and workplace safety. Closing date May 19, 2027.

Qualifications

  • Vocational competencies at least to the level being delivered and assessed
  • CPC30220 - Certificate III in Carpentry or Equivalent; with
  • CPC10120 - Certificate I in Construction or Equivalent;
  • CPC20220 - Certificate II in Construction Pathways or Equivalent;
  • Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials: TA E40122/TAE40116/TAE40110/TAE50122/TAE50111/TAE50211/TAE50216
  • A secondary teaching qualification and one of the following credentials: TAESS00024/TAESS00011 or TAESS00019 or higher level qualification in adult or vocational education
  • Current industry skills directly relevant to the training and assessment being provided
  • Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs the training and assessment provided
  • Evidence of undertaking professional development in vocational training, learning and assessment

Responsibilities

  • Delivering engaging, industry-aligned training and assessment
  • Supporting students to develop practical carpentry skills and knowledge
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of training programs
  • Mentoring and guiding learners to achieve their career goals
  • Maintaining strong connections with industry to ensure training remains relevant and current
