Job summary

The WA Carpentry Company in Perth is seeking an experienced Carpentry Supervisor to lead on-site teams, supervise multiple projects and ensure safety, quality and timely delivery across the metropolitan area.

This hands-on role requires jumping on the tools when needed, coordinating labour and subcontractors, and working closely with the Estimating and Scheduling teams to keep programs on track. Competitive salary, fully maintained company vehicle, mobile phone and laptop provided.

Qualifications

  • Previous supervisory/leading hand/foreman experience in carpentry roles.
  • Strong carpentry background with trade knowledge.

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 + Vehicle Package (Negotiable Based On Experience)

About Us

The WA Carpentry Company is a Perth-based carpentry and construction business delivering high-quality residential and commercial building projects across the Perth metropolitan area.

Our work includes timber frame construction, steel frame construction, residential extensions and renovations, structural carpentry, and general building works.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Carpentry Supervisor to join our team in a hands-on leadership role.

About the Role

This is a predominantly site-based role for someone who enjoys being on the ground, leading teams, solving problems and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

You will oversee multiple projects across Perth, providing a consistent site presence, supporting our carpenters and subcontractors, and ensuring works are progressing according to programme.

This is a hands-on position, and you will be expected to jump on the tools when required to support the team and keep projects moving.

You will also work closely with our office team, attending project handovers with our Estimating Department and liaising regularly with our Scheduling Team to provide updates on job progress, resource requirements and site activities.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise multiple carpentry projects across the Perth metropolitan area

Maintain a strong and consistent presence on site

Coordinate labour, materials and subcontractors

Assist on the tools when required

Conduct site inspections and quality control checks

Ensure all works are completed safely and to company standards

Identify and resolve site issues before they impact programme delivery

Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors

Attend project handovers with the Estimating Team

Provide regular updates and feedback to the Scheduling Team

Ensure projects are delivered efficiently, professionally and on time

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience in a Supervisor, Leading Hand or Foreman role

Strong carpentry background with excellent trade knowledge

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Excellent communication and organisational skills

A proactive and solutions-focused approach

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Current Driver's Licence

Current White Card

Ability to lead by example and establish strong working relationships with clients, trades and suppliers

Highly Regarded

Trade qualification in Carpentry or a related building trade

Experience supervising timber frame and steel frame construction projects

Experience overseeing residential extensions and renovation projects

Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site coordination

Experience leading carpentry teams and subcontractors

Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications

Experience using construction or job management software
