G.J. Gardner Homes Shepparton is offering a Carpentry Apprentice (New, 1st or 2nd Year) role in the Shepparton and Goulburn Valley region. You’ll work directly with Senior Carpenters and qualified builders on residential construction, gaining real hands-on experience from framing to fix‑outs.

Ideal for school leavers, mature-age applicants, or current apprentices seeking proper on‑the‑job training. The program includes on‑site learning, mentorship, and progression toward an official Carpentry

Qualifications

• A genuine motivation to build a long‑term carpentry career.
• Willingness to listen, take direction and absorb skills from experienced tradesmen.
• Reliability, punctuality and a proactive, down‑to‑earth attitude.
• Pride in your work, clean presentation and readiness for site work.
• Have or be willing to obtain a Construction Induction Card (White Card).

Responsibilities

• Assist timber framing, roof construction, lock‑up and fix‑out carpentry.
• Install windows, doors and external cladding with qualified trades.
• Read construction plans, take measurements and prepare materials.
• Maintain tools and keep sites safe, clean and organized.
• Work with Senior Carpenters and Supervisors to meet daily targets.
• Complete trade school requirements to earn the Carpentry qualification.
• Travel to active residential sites across the Goulburn Valley region.
