Job summary

Red Rose Projects is seeking an experienced Carpenter in New South Wales for a full-time role. You will perform a broad range of carpentry tasks across residential and building projects, including timber frame construction, installation and renovations.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of carpentry experience (or 3 years in lieu of formal qualifications), reads plans well and works safely in a team, with a focus on quality workmanship and meeting project specs in Sydney's metropolitan area.

Qualifications

• AQF Certificate III or IV in Carpentry with relevant experience.
• 2+ years in carpentry or 3 years in lieu of formal qualification.
• Ability to read plans, drawings and measurements with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Interpret architectural drawings and measurements to determine materials and procedures.
• Construct and install timber frameworks, walls, roofs and fixtures to spec.
• Inspect work for level, plumb and square; rectify defects as needed.

Red rose projects pty ltd About the Role Red Rose Projects is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our construction team in New South Wales on a full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of carpentry and construction duties across residential and/or building projects, including construction, installation, renovation and repair of timber structures and fixtures. The role requires a high level of workmanship, attention to detail and the ability to work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a wider construction team.

Task & responsibilities Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from architectural drawings, plans, specifications and measurements to determine materials, dimensions and construction procedures.
• Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and other construction materials accurately.
• Construct, erect and install timber frameworks, wall frames, roof structures, flooring, doors, windows and other building components.
• Install and repair doors, window frames, skirting, architraves, cladding, fascia and other fixtures and fittings.
• Construct and install internal and external structures in accordance with plans and project specifications.
• Prepare and assemble timber components using hand and power tools.
• Carry out carpentry work associated with renovations, alterations, extensions and new construction projects.
• Select, order and prepare appropriate timber, fixings and other materials required for assigned work.
• Inspect completed work to ensure structures are level, plumb, square and built to the required specifications.
• Identify and rectify defects, damage or construction issues as required.
• Maintain accurate measurements and minimise material wastage.
• Work collaboratively with builders, subcontractors and other trades to meet project schedules.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe work area at all times.
• Comply with relevant workplace health and safety requirements, building standards and company procedures.

Qualification & experience Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have: AQF Certificate III or IV in Carpentry, Construction, or a related field, together with at least 2 years of relevant industry experience; or At least 3 years of demonstrated practical experience working as a Carpenter in lieu of the relevant qualification. Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in general carpentry and construction work.

Ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings, specifications and measurements. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools and carpentry equipment. Strong skills in measuring, cutting, assembling and installing timber and other building materials.

Knowledge of construction methods, materials and safe work practices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality workmanship. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Ability to follow instructions and manage tasks in accordance with project schedules. Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements. A current driver's licence and relevant construction/site licences or tickets will be advantageous.
