Job summary

Game 7 Projects Pty Ltd in Browns Plains, QLD, is seeking a qualified Carpenter to join our growing building and construction team on a full-time basis. You will work on residential and commercial projects, reading plans and delivering timber and metal structures to a high standard.

You will perform framing, formwork, finishing, doors and cladding tasks, and ensure compliance with Australian Standards and the Building Code.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Carpentry or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of carpentry experience.
  • Ability to read plans and calculate material quantities.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret plans to determine material requirements.
  • Cut and shape timber and steel using hand and power tools.
  • Construct timber framing, floor bearers, joists and roof trusses.
  • Install doors, windows, linings and hardware.
  • Fit stairs, decks, pergolas and verandahs.
  • Follow WHS procedures and keep the site tidy.
  • Check work with levels and measurement tools.
  • Repair and renovate existing structures as needed.

Game 7 Projects Pty Ltd – Browns Plains QLD

Game7Projects is an established building and construction business. We deliver residential and commercial projects, including new homes, extensions, renovations and fit-outs. To keep up with our growing workload, we’re looking for a qualified Carpenter to join our team full time.

The Role

You’ll construct, install, renovate and repair timber and metal structures and fixtures on building sites. You’ll work from plans and specifications and deliver quality workmanship that meets Australian Standards and the Building Code.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications to work out material requirements, dimensions and installation methods
  • Select, measure, mark out, cut and shape timber, steel and other materials using hand and power tools
  • Set out building sites and establish levels and reference points for construction
  • Construct, erect and install timber and steel framework, including floor bearers and joists, wall frames and roof trusses
  • Build and erect formwork for concrete footings, slabs, columns and other structures, and strip it afterwards
  • Install doors, windows, door frames, locks and other hardware
  • Fit internal linings and finishes, such as skirting boards, architraves, cornices and timber flooring
  • Construct and install stairs, balustrades, decks, pergolas and verandahs
  • Install external cladding, fascias, eaves and weatherboards
  • Check work for accuracy using spirit levels, laser levels, plumb bobs and squares
  • Repair, alter and renovate existing timber and metal structures and fixtures
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures and keep the work site clean and tidy
Skills and Experience
  • Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220) or an equivalent qualification
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Carpenter
  • Sound knowledge of framing, formwork and finishing techniques
  • Working knowledge of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code
  • Ability to read plans and calculate material quantities accurately
  • Confident using carpentry hand and power tools safely
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work
  • Able to work on your own or as part of a team
  • Current White Card (General Construction Induction)
