Job summary

Hr Partners in Cairns, QLD is seeking experienced Trade Qualified Carpenters to support ongoing local government projects. The role focuses on general construction of modular homes, with opportunities to work on residential upgrades and fit-outs, reading blueprints and ensuring NCC compliance while maintaining a safe, efficient site.

You must hold Certificate III in Carpentry and a valid Queensland White Card, be able to pass drug and alcohol screening, and possess a manual driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Australian Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent).
  • Current Licensing: Queensland Construction White Card and other relevant licenses.
  • Must pass pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test.
  • Manual driver's license (Australian).
  • Strong commitment to WHS practices.

Responsibilities

  • General construction of modular homes.
  • Possible carpentry on local residential properties: structural repairs, fit-outs, upgrades.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine project requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and local council building standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant site.

About the Role

We are currently seeking experienced and reliable Trade Qualified Carpenters to join our team for ongoing local government projects in the Cairns region.

This is a dynamic role that offers a diverse range of work across new modular homes. If you take pride in delivering high-quality craftsmanship and want to contribute to the maintenance and development of essential community infrastructure, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general construction of modular homes. Potential to execute carpentry works for local residential properties, including structural repairs, fit-outs, and upgrades. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements. Ensure all work complies with the National Construction Code (NCC) and local council building standards. Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant worksite at all times.

Mandatory Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:

  • Australian Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent Australian recognised qualification).
  • Current Licensing: A valid Queensland Construction White Card and any other relevant current trade licenses.
  • Fitness for Work: Must be able to successfully pass a mandatory pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test.
  • Driver’s License: A valid Australian manual driver’s license.
  • Safety Focus: A strong commitment to Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) practices.
