Job summary

HammondCare Strathearn House is seeking Casual Specialised Carers - Residential Care in NSW to join our team. You will provide tailored personal care and support residents with dementia, under RN supervision and within a home-like environment.

You will engage in orientation, buddy shifts and be supported on site by Registered Nurses and Managers. Applicants with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Genuine passion for serving elderly people.
• Willingness to work a range of shifts including nights and weekends.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
• Knowledge and experience of people living with Dementia.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (showering, grooming, toileting, etc).
• Support residents with varying levels of dementia.
• Recognise, report and respond appropriately to changes in residents' conditions.

Job description

HammondCare Strathearn House is currently looking for Casual Specialised Carers - Residential Care to join our team.

Rosters available may not suit student visa due to hour restrictions. Unlimited work rights will be highly regarded.
With our unique model of care which places the residents' needs as your number one priority, you will help create a home away from home for our residents. This role requires you to provide tailored care including personal support within the residential home.

You will be responsible for:

• Personal care - showering, grooming, toileting etc
• Support residents with levels of dementia
• Recognise, report and respond appropriately to changes in the conditions of residents within your skills and competencies All new staff will complete an onsite orientation with a Workplace Trainer, have buddy shifts and be supported by experienced Registered Nurses and Managers on site.

To be successful in this role, you will:

• Have a genuine passion for serving elderly people & want to make a difference in their lives
• Be flexible and able to commit to a range of shifts including nights & weekends
• Value teamwork but also be able to work independently and show initiative
• Have knowledge & experience of people living with Dementia & their needs
• Applicants with Cert lll or Cert lV in Aged Care would be viewed favourably.
