Job summary

Department of Education Victoria–Korumburra VIC is seeking a dedicated Careers Education professional to lead the development of a school-wide careers curriculum for Years 7–12 and to coordinate extensive career support services, including counselling, VTAC guidance and work experience programs.

The role requires strong collaboration with staff and external agencies to embed career education across the curriculum and ensure students are prepared for post-school pathways and tertiary options.

Qualifications

• Experience and demonstrable knowledge of career development theory and practice for secondary schools.
• Strong planning, organisation and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent verbal, written and IT communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse communities and young people.
• Experience using career development software packages.
• Tertiary qualifications in Career Development and/or Careers Counselling and/or teaching.

Responsibilities

• Develop and embed a comprehensive careers curriculum for Years 7–12 aligned to the Victorian Curriculum 2.0.
• Coordinate a range of career support services including counselling, VTAC information and pathways programs.
• Collaborate with college staff to implement the Careers Education Framework and Work Education programs.
• Lead and develop the careers and pathways team, including industry links and work experience opportunities.
