Job summary

Department of Education Victoria is seeking a Careers Counsellor to lead and coordinate school career education programs. You will provide one-on-one guidance, develop Career Action Plans and support pathway opportunities for students across Year 9–12.

You will work within the Careers and Pathways Team, collaborating with teachers, parents and external agencies to ensure students access diverse post-school options.

Qualifications

• Graduate Certificate in Careers required.
• Proven ability to deliver a professional careers counselling service.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills across multiple stakeholders.
• Experience planning and coordinating school-based career programs.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and growth.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and coordinate Year 10 Work Experience and Year 9 Morrisby.
• Lead one-on-one careers counselling for Year 11 students and maintain Career Action Plans.
• Provide career counselling for Year 10 sub school referrals and align with SWL/Pathway options.
• Support Course Counselling, subject selection and information sessions.
• Represent Careers and Pathways Team in meetings and external partnerships.
