Job summary

Macquarie University Hospital is launching Ward 4 East, a purpose-built Step-Down Cardiology and Day Stay Unit, and we are seeking passionate and skilled Registered Nurses to join this new team on a permanent full-time basis.

As a cardiology RN, you will deliver specialist cardiac care in an 8-bed monitored environment, interpret rhythms, provide post-procedural recovery, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current registration as an Registered Nurse (RN) with AHPRA and cardiology experience.
• Experience in monitored cardiac patients and telemetry.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development in cardiac care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centred nursing care for monitored cardiology patients.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, escalating deterioration appropriately.
• Manage post-procedural care for EP studies, ablations, pacemaker/ICD insertions and PCI.
• Provide Stage 2 recovery care following angiography and cardiac interventions.
• Administer medications including cardiac infusions per clinical guidelines.
• Operate cardiac monitoring equipment and telemetry systems.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, electrophysiologists and multidisciplinary teams.
