Job summary

Venues NSW is seeking an experienced Capital Works Manager to lead infrastructure and capital works across our venue portfolio in Sydney. You will oversee a team of Project Managers, manage external resources, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard of quality.

You will provide leadership across planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, contract management, risk management and financial reporting, with a focus on GC21 and MW21 contracts and

Qualifications

• Experience delivering capital works or infrastructure projects in complex operational environments.
• Proven leadership experience managing project teams and external consultants.
• Strong contract, commercial, and financial management skills.
• Experience in project governance, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing a high-performing project delivery team.
• Overseeing the delivery of capital works projects from planning through to completion.
• Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Supporting project governance, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Providing oversight of contracts (GC21 and MW21), commercial performance, budgets and project risks.
• Ensuring construction activities coordinate with venue operations and event schedules.
