Anyinginyi Health Aboriginal Corporation in Tennant Creek, NT is seeking a Cancer Support Health Promotion Officer to lead cancer awareness, early detection and screening initiatives within the Public Health Unit.

You will work with communities, Elders and health professionals to deliver culturally safe education and health promotion activities, with a strong focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes.

Qualifikationen

• Qualifications in Health Promotion, Public Health, Aboriginal Health, Community Services or a related discipline.
• Commitment to improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes.
• Experience in health promotion, community engagement, public health or related field.
• Entry-level candidates welcome to apply.
• Knowledge of cancer-related health issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with communities, health professionals and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and project management skills.
• Current driver's licence and willingness to travel throughout the Barkly Region.
• Experience working in Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs).
• Familiarity with cancer screening programs and health promotion initiatives.
• Remote NT experience.

Aufgaben

• Delivering culturally appropriate cancer prevention and health education programs.
• Promoting participation in breast, cervical and bowel cancer screening.
• Coordinating community awareness campaigns, events, workshops and yarning circles.
• Building relationships with Aboriginal communities, Elders and local stakeholders.
• Supporting individuals and families affected by cancer through education, advocacy and referrals.
• Monitoring and evaluating program activities and contributing to funding reports and reviews.
