Job summary

The University of Western Australia is seeking a Research Technician (Animal Research) to contribute to innovative cancer research at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research in Nedlands. You will perform in vivo mouse work and support molecular biology and histology workflows in a collaborative team.

This 12-month full-time fixed-term appointment offers a base salary range of AU$86,540–AU$95,920 per year (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation, with flexible working options and generous leave

Qualifications

Science degree or diploma with relevant animal handling experience.
Strong practical experience with animal handling and sample processing.
Proficiency with standard laboratory equipment and data handling.

Responsibilities

Perform in vivo procedures with mice, including handling, treatment, dissections and tissue collection.
Support molecular biology and histology workflows such as RNA/DNA extraction and PCR.
Provide day-to-day technical support within a collaborative cancer research team.
