Job summary

NSW Health’s Westmead Hospital seeks a Pharmacy Technician Grade 3 to manage production services and clinical trials in cancer care. You will support safe, accurate cancer treatment through chemotherapy production, dispensing and trial-related activities.

You will supervise staff, ensure quality, compliance with policies, and contribute to a collaborative team focused on patient safety and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated good communication skills.
• Demonstrated hospital pharmacy experience in Australia (or equivalent) as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Competency in performing complex tasks in specialised hospital pharmacy practice.
• Ability to prioritise large workload and have good time management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Willing to participate in sterile (including cytotoxic) manufacturing when required.
• Willing to work late shifts and overtime on weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential technical support across cancer care pharmacy services.
• Contribute to the safe and timely preparation and supply of medicines used in cancer treatment and clinical research.
• Prepare and reconstitute chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies and other medicines.
• Support cancer clinical trials, drug distribution, inventory management, dispensing and related activities.
• Deliver accurate, timely and patient-focused pharmacy services across cancer care and other areas.
• Supervise and support pharmacy technicians, support staff and students, fostering a positive team environment.
• Participate in quality assurance and professional development activities.
