Job summary

PHILLIP RILEY PROJECTS PTY LTD in Canberra seeks an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for understanding, predicting and calculating the stability, strength and rigidity of built structures including buildings, bridges, footings and space frames, ensuring safety, performance and compliance with design standards.

Qualifications

1 year experience in structural engineering.
Permanent full-time position.
Ability to read architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

Analyses the statical properties of all types of structures.
Test the behaviour and durability of materials used in their construction.
Designs structures and supervises construction.
Estimate total costs and prepare detailed cost plans and estimates for budget control.
Monitor changes to designs, assess effects on cost, measure value and negotiate variations.
Analyse structural systems for static and dynamic loads and ensure safety.
