Job summary

Built is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex ICT and construction-related ICT initiatives in Canberra. You will own projects end to end, from design through implementation and evaluation, ensuring budgets, risks and stakeholder expectations are managed effectively.

The role requires leading and developing staff, providing expert advice to stakeholders and the agency’s executive, and working under senior guidance.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex ICT projects, ideally in government or a large enterprise.
• Proven experience managing a project budget, including monitoring expenditure and reporting against it.
• Strong written communication skills, with a track record of producing Project Management Plans, status reports and schedules.
• Experience engaging and managing internal and external stakeholders, from frontline staff through to executive level.
• A current Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance or higher is essential and must be held at the time of application.
• Must be based in Canberra with regular onsite attendance.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and deliver complex ICT projects in line with the agency’s project management framework, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
• Develop and maintain Project Management Plans, schedules, status reports and exception reports, and prepare business cases and executive briefs.
• Manage project budgets, monitor expenditure and oversee related procurement and contract management.
• Identify, assess, escalate and treat project risks and issues, and track the realisation of project benefits.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, and lead, coach and manage the performance of project staff.
