Job summary

BDO Australia in Canberra is seeking expressions of interest from experienced audit professionals at Auditor, Senior Auditor, Assistant Manager, Manager, Senior Manager and Director levels to contribute to high‑quality financial statement audits and strengthen our local market presence.

Applicants should hold a degree in Accounting/Commerce with CA or CPA and have experience across government, private and Not‑for‑Profit sectors, plus strong analytical, communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting/Commerce or related discipline, with CA or CPA qualification completed or in process.
• Experience in financial statement audit, ideally within government, private and/or Not for Profit environments.
• Ability to plan, execute and document audit work in accordance with audit methodology, auditing standards and quality expectations.
• Experience assessing internal controls, identifying key risk areas, and evaluating audit evidence to support audit conclusions.
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify trends, anomalies and key financial risks.
• Clear written communication skills for audit workpapers, findings, reports and client correspondence.
• Stakeholder management skills, including working with finance teams, executives and audit committees.
• Project and time management skills to ensure quality work is delivered on time.
• Strong Business Development Skills – Senior Manager and Director candidates, demonstrated ability to contribute to business development, client relationships and market growth.

Responsibilities
